Week 3 Power Rankings
There aren’t many things in life where the harder you work, the worse you get.
Fantasy football might top the list.
It’s like Malcolm Gladwell’s 10,000 hours theory in reverse. I feel like I’m actively getting dumber with each lineup decision. Case in point—why did I draft (and actively continue to roster) Kaleb Johnson, who’s sitting at –0.1 fantasy points? I’ve literally outscored him.
Nothing epitomizes the chaos and unpredictability of fantasy like this post I saw the other day. The caption: “You spend years building a stacked dynasty roster. And then…”
This should be a good team, right? RiGhT?!
Exactly.
Meanwhile Tre Tucker drops 40.9 and is WR4 on the season. Javonte Williams is outscoring Saquon Barkley. Ashton Jeanty is RB33. The top tight ends are Jake Ferguson, Juwan Johnson, and Hunter Henry. The Vikings D/ST beat all but two players this week. It’s madness.
So yeah, if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em. From now on, I’m running my team purely on vibes.
Of course, not everyone’s in panic mode. Two managers are still undefeated, and they headline this week’s Power Rankings. Let’s dig in.
The Power Rankings
With her second weekly prize in three weeks, Samantha jumps out to an early lead.
Uh oh…it happened again.
No, I’m not talking about Samantha leading the Power Rankings—though she did for a third straight week. I’m talking about failing to get these rankings out on time.
As you might have guessed, I wrote the above intro earlier in the week and then never got around to crafting the actual analysis until the week was up. Oops!
So instead of finishing this one out, I’m going to post it here anyway for the sake of posterity. (Brandon gazes wistfully at a chart showing himself in the top-five.) If only we could stay here in Week 3 forever—a more innocent time before the ACL-ravaging chaos that befell my team in Week 4.
Alas, time marches on.
